Jane Taylor

Head of Employment, Skills and Learning, Bristol City Council

Jane is the Bristol City Council lead for Employment and Skills – working with city leaders to shape a collaborative employment, skills and lifelong learning offer to address educational and employment inequality. Working in local government for over 30 years, her current portfolio includes adult skills, employment support, apprenticeships, and post 16 pathways. Jane has led on various innovative development programmes – including the WE Work for Everyone employment support programme for Disabled People and Autism; Bristol WORKs that provides experience of work for young people most at risk of becoming NEET; the Building Bristol partnership which integrates employment and skills into all major developments; and one of the leading In-Work Progression Programmes to support people on low pay. An active contributor to national policy through the LGA, Holex and Core Cities, she is also Co-Vice Chair of the Employment Working Group of Eurocities.
