Councillor Ed Plowden

Chair of Bristol City Council’s Transport and Connectivity Committee

Ed Plowden is a Green Party councillor for Windmill Hill and is also Chair of Bristol City Council’s Transport and Connectivity Committee. Before becoming a councillor Ed has 25 years’ experience in the public sector, most recently as Head of Local and Sustainable Transport at Bristol City Council.

In the past he has been a Home Office civil servant working to tackle crime and drugs and worked for Bristol City Council to promote community safety and development. He has also held posts in the private and voluntary sectors, including as Sustrans’ first Director of Paths for Everyone until 2024.

As a graduate in public health Ed is passionate about challenging inequity and inequality.
